We've been quiet since the release of our last single a decade ago, but behind the scenes we were gradually sending songs back and forth between southeast Michigan and Chicago, working on this set of songs. Surprisingly, Natural Monuments Own A Sword is our first full-length, and the record we've wanted to make since 2007, when our tastes started to gravitate towards the sounds of The Feelies, The dB's, and R.E.M.

This has always been a band that speaks in music references (see final track for those), but this record sounds more like Natural Monuments than anything we made in the mid-2000s. We've made more room to feature Trav's jangly lead guitar and Aaron's propulsive drums, while keeping the poppy vocals and melodic bass. Most of the lyrics are nonsense, but where we've bothered to to be coherent, this record is about friendships.

We hope you enjoy our shaggy little record.
